Fern

 |
History:
Fern was built by W.J. Yarwood and Sons of Northwich for the Fellows, Morton
and Clayton fleet. She was built of steel composite construction (steel sides
and an elm bottom) and was delivered to FMC in June 1947. She only remained in
the FMC fleet for a couple of years before the company was nationalised, at
which stage she passed into the British Waterways fleet.
Current Condition:
Fern was much restored in 2000, including a new 10mm base plate being fittted
and a steel conversion being added to allow extra accomodation. Today Fern is powered
by a Lister HA2 and carries the FMC livery.
